During the 14th International gvSIG Conference there will be a GODAN AgriGIS session with presentations in Agriculture theme.

Nearly 800 million people struggle with debilitating hunger and malnutrition in every corner of the globe. That's one in every nine people, with the majority being women and children. We are convinced that the solution to Zero Hunger lies within existing, but often unavailable, agriculture and nutrition data. Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN) is an initiative that seeks to support global efforts to make agricultural and nutritionally relevant data available, accessible, and usable for unrestricted use worldwide.

The initiative focuses on building high-level policy as well as public and private institutional support for open data. Open Geospatial data and open geo tools are key in supporting and achieving the 2030 agenda for Global Food Security.

Your contributions and inputs on AgriGIS, FoodSecurity research and examples are welcome. Please send your abstracts through the Communications section of the website by 11th September 2018.
